Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween the kids got to do double the trick-or-treating! On Saturday we went to Aunt Cami's neighborhood and on Sunday we went around our neighborhood. The kids got more candy than they'll ever eat! I think they enjoyed every minute of it. On Friday we baked our ghost cookies and made our Jack-o-lanterns. We went a different route with the pumpkins this year and instead of carving them, the kids painted faces on them. They seemed to really enjoy the painting and once Halloween was over, we washed off the paint (with the help of a rain storm!) and were able to enjoy Thanksgiving pumpkins!

Birthday Weekend

Alan isn't big on making a huge deal of his birthday...but I am! So for his BIG 4-0 we decided to check out a local "zoo". It's a family that lives on a farm and they have a bunch of rescued animals and such. We enjoyed our time and then we went home and had pizza and a delicious ice cream cake courtesy of the DQ! I think deep down Alan enjoys his birthday when he gets to spend it with the people he loves!
