NAPTIME

Brikelle is taking after her big sister when she was this age and has recently decided that she is too big to take naps. The only difference is that Bailee could actually make it through a whole day without falling asleep...Brikelle, not so much. The whole sleeping thing has been a bit of a challenge lately. If she falls asleep during the day, I can't help but let her stay asleep for half an hour or an hour because the break is much welcomed. However, when she does fall asleep during the day, it gives her just enough energy to be wide awake and a huge challenge at bedtime. Brikelle has always been so good about going to bed...even when we transitioned her to her toddler bed. She would go to bed willingly and stay in bed all night. Now bedtime is a game. She goes to bed willingly but gets out of bed over and over again until she finally wears down enough to stay in bed (usually around 11 pm). Needless to say, mommy is starting to feel the affects. Hopefully this stage will pass soon! Here are some pictures of some of the places she has decided to fall asleep...

Yes I know, I'm very slow at posting these pictures this week, but here they are. Since it is now March we made our first St. Patrick's Day craft...Leprechauns! Grandma and Grandpa even joined in on the fun!

I found some really cute hand puppet kits in the craft section at Wal-Mart and decided that would be our Monday Making. They are smaller than I expected them to be, but they are really cute. And everything comes together and ready to assemble...no glue, scissors or sewing required!

Look Who's 2!

Today (February 22nd) our little baby girl turned 2! I can't believe it's been 2 years already since Brikelle joined our family. She has been such a joy to us. She is definitely the baby and gets away with a lot more than Bailee and Braden ever did! At 2 years old Brikelle is talking up a storm...she can and will say anything we say. She loves Elmo, Blue's Clues and Dora. She loves animals (real and stuffed). She loves to go outside. She loves to do everything her brother and sister do and take their toys and make her brother cry. She loves to climb on anything she can including the pantry shelves (which is now locked at all times!). She loves to give loves. She is very fond of her big sister Bailee and likes to run around the house playing pirates and Star Wars with her big brother Braden. She loves to be tickled by daddy and she is a huge mommy's girl. She has also mastered throwing a 2 year old tantrum! She melts our hearts with her beautiful eyes, smile and sweetness! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIKELLE!!! We Love You!

Brikelle had a Dora the Explorer birthday. She celebrated her special day with her mom, her sister, her brother and her grandma & grandpa who are here visiting. We know her daddy wishes he could have been here to celebrate with us. Her day was celebrated by going to church, taking a good nap, eating a nice spaghetti lunch (a favorite meal of hers), opening presents and having cake and ice cream. I'm pretty sure she enjoyed her special day!
