Spring Break and Stuff

I've been a bit of a slacker with blogging so I decided it was time to fix it! Here are a bunch of pictures of what we've been up to for the last two weeks. Bailee had her Spring Break and we had a two week visit with Grandma Jones, and Grandpa Jones got to spend a week here too.

Each of the kids planted their own pot of flower seeds

Brikelle's is the first to start growing. I hope the other two pots will grow soon!

Bailee and I took advantage of having Grandma here to babysit and we snuck out to see the Hannah Montana movie. It was a cute movie and we bought the soundtrack right after!
Playing Super Hero!
Cutest Super Hero I ever did see!
Bailee's class at school just finished up their plant unit. Here is her plant that she grew all by herself and is now like 3xs the size!
Another one of Brikelle's random naps!
Enjoying Grandma and Grandpa time
Playing a fun bean bag toss game with Grandpa

Braden's new best friend aka: Nellie
Family Fun Night at Bailee's school with lots to do. Unfortunately less than 2 hours into it, we got rained out. But it was fun while it lasted!

I kept asking Brikelle if she wanted a rainbow or a flower or hearts or a sun...nope, she wanted a "nake". At least it's purple and pink!
Braden's cool Black Widow...eww!
And beautiful hearts for Bailee

So there it is, our last two weeks in a nutshell!

Hoppy Easter!

We had a nice Easter this year. Although Daddy wasn't here to spend it with us, we did get to spend Easter with Grandma Jones! She is here visiting with us and we are happy and excited to have her here. Bailee is on Spring Break this week so she's happy to have time to spend with Grandma. The kids were excited to see that the Easter Bunny left each of them a little gift and candy in their baskets, plus some eggs with candy inside around the house. After church we enjoyed our yummy traditional Easter dinner...ham, mashed potatoes, corn, salad and rolls. I love Easter and I love this time of year!

Party Girl

I'm very slow at getting Bailee's party pictures up, but here they are...finally! Bailee got to have two parties this year because Grandma and Grandpa had to leave just a few days before her birthday and she wanted to be able to celebrate with them. So as an early birthday party Bailee invited some church friends over for a PJ/movie party. We had cupcakes and snacks and the girls watched the new Barbie Thumbelina movie. I think everyone had a good time and it was fun to be able to party with Grandma and Grandpa! On Bailee's real birthday we had four school friends and two neighborhood friends over for a Hannah Montana PJ/movie party. Another fun night! Bailee is quite the party girl!

Church friends Scary faces! G & G got this book for Bailee. For a year or so now she has been fascinated with China. She always asks questions about it and her answer to everything is always something to do with China! Her biggest question and concern in life right now is "Mom, why do some of the toys that Santa brought us say Made in China?" She checks everything to see if it says Made in China. So if anyone knows the answer to that question please let me know! All I've said is "I don't know, but that's a really good question!"
Homemade cupcakes (from a box of course) with Grandma's real homemade frosting. Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!
Birthday breakfast...chocolate donut with a candle!
She opened a few things that morning and the rest when her friends were over. She's wanted this car for her doll house for a long time! She loves to pose for the camera if you didn't already know!

School and neighborhood friends
Being silly!

The one time Brikelle actually wanted her picture taken!
Since Christmas Bailee has gotten into these Peek-a-Boo dolls. I couldn't pass up the Wizard of Oz collection...too cute!

Book Premiere

Last night Bailee's school had a Book Premiere...every child in the school wrote and illustrated their own books. So last night we got to go to Bailee's classroom and she got to show us and read to us her book that she wrote. This is an annual thing that the school does and it's the cutest thing ever! The books aren't just made with paper and staples, it's an actual hard cover book that they get to write and draw in, which makes the kids feel like real authors! This year her class got to type their sentences on the computer rather than write them. Bailee did an awesome job with her book, she wrote about her school it's titled "This is My School". She told about her teachers and friends and of course did an amazing job on her illustrations. I know Daddy is sad he had to miss it and Bailee is looking forward to reading it to Daddy when he gets home!

Bailee with her teachers...the most awesome 1st grade teachers ever!

Monday Makings

I know I'm a little (or a lot) behind, but here are some Easter Monday Makings! All 3 kids love crafts that involve painting so I found some cute Easter egg patterns to print and they got to have fun and be creative with the paint!

These are our sock bunnies! (Remember this idea Mom?!) This is an idea that came to me quite a few years ago while folding a pair of socks! I finally decided to actually make my idea instead of just thinking about it. Since it mostly involved gluing with the hot glue gun the kids weren't really able to help. However, they did get to pick what colors they wanted.

Happy Birthday Miss B!!!

Seven years ago today (April 4th) Alan and I became the proud parents of our first little Angel, Bailee Marie. Seven years have gone by in the blink of an eye. Bailee was our "surprise" baby, meaning that we didn't know whether she would be a boy or a girl. What an exciting day it was when we got to meet her and hold her for the first time. Bailee is such a wonderful little girl. She does great in school and is an accelerated reader. She is kind to everyone and makes friends very easily. She is thoughtful and cares about others feelings...she has a big heart. She is a good and helpful big sister. She is very honest. She is a wonderful artist and has had a passion for drawing since the age of two. She loves to listen to music. She loves to dance. She loves Disney Princesses and Disney World. She's a perfectionist. She is a big daddy's girl. She has the biggest, brownest, most beautfulist eyes ever! She loves cheese quesadillas, mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese. Bailee is a fun little girl and brings lots of joy to our family. We are so thankful to be her parents. We love you so much Bailee Bug and wish you a very Happy Birthday!

Goodbyes are never fun, especially when it's saying goodbye to family. Today after a 6 week stay, Grandma and Grandpa had to fly back home. :( The kids and I had a nice visit and appreciate everything that G & G did for us. We hope they enjoyed their stay and hope we were worth 6 weeks of their time! Thank you G & G for coming to be with us...we miss you already and love you a whole bunch!
